Baby #2 Progress

I haven't updated about my pregnancy for a while so I think it is about that time :)
As most of you know I had precancerous cells  on my cervix when I was 19, it was a mild case and they got rid of it by doing a procedure called a LEEP http://womenshealth.about.com/cs/surgery/a/leepprocedure.htm well for a percentage of women who get pregnant after this procedure it can cause preterm labor...wellll looks like I am one of those lucky few..

About two weekends ago I started having really strong and frequent braxton hicks ( pretty normal) but the fact that they lasted from 7p.m. til the following breakfast meal made me concerned. Then later in that day I had noticed mucus after going to the restroom....it was just a little and I didn't think much of it, but it happened again later on..ok maybe my mucus plug in slowly coming out, well i noticed it a few more times, but again it was very little bits and I discussed it with my Dr..he showed (for him anyway...he is a VERY CALM no emotion kind of person lol) concern and wanted me to have an ultrasound to check the length of my cervix (I'm pretty sure he already new what the outcome was going to be). Then the next day I lost a lot of the mucus plug and boy did that shake me up..or as you could say reality of this little boy coming too soon was hitting.

But after that I didn't have much more showing of the mucus but those darn braxton hicks are still hard as a rock and frequent...coming all through that day. So any who I had my ultrasound yesterday and of course she told me straight up that it wasn't good, they look for the cervix to be at least 3cm long at this stage, but mine was under 2.5cm basically just under 50% thinned out. Which means I was sent to labor and delivory to get a steroid shot for the little ones lungs...I have heard NOTHING but great things when it comes to these shots and the nurses were just raving about how they have delivered many babies early and the ones who had the shots were healthy and breathing on there own (all we can really ask for at this point :))

So needless to say I really don't know when this little one is coming but I do feel confident in my Dr and nurses that he will be strong and healthy when he does arrive! I would LOVE him to make it to easter (or just to 35 weeks) but something in the Dr's face told me no such luck! But its only worse to worry so what will be will be and atleast I got to see my baby boy in 3D with this ultrasound!! Sooo amazing...the best part was his funny faces ( he looks like Van I believe)!
